In 2016, near the peak of the Perseid Meteor shower, a sand-sized rock from the deep space crossed right in front of the Andromeda galaxy. It took just a fraction of seconds to pass through this 10° field. The green hue was due to vaporization of the Meteor’s glowing gas. Credit:Fritz Helmut Hemmer via /r/spaceporn http://bit.ly/2GklmFT
